The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Use ithmid kohl, for it brightens the eyesight and makes the lashes grow."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: عليكم بالإثمد؛ فإنه يجلو البصر، وينبت الشعر.
Ibn Majah (3495) and Hakim (4/207) both narrated it from the hadith of Abu Asim, who said, "Uthman bin Abdul-Malik narrated to us, from Salim bin Abdullah, from Abdullah bin Umar," and he mentioned it.Hakim said, "This is a hadith sahih in isnad."I say, it contains Uthman bin Abdul-Malik Makki the muezzin, about whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is hasan as long as he does not report something objectionable, and his hadith has a basis, and this is one of them.
