The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wear white clothing, for it is among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in it. The best of your kohls is ithmid, for it sharpens the sight and makes the lashes grow."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: البسوا من ثيابكم البيض، فإنها من خير ثيابكم، وكفنوا فيها موتاكم، وإن خير أكحالكم الإثمد: يجلو البصر وينبت الشعر.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (3878, 4061), Tirmidhi (994), Ibn Majah (1472, 3497), Nasai (5113), and Ahmad (2219), and Ibn Hibban (5423, 6072) and Hakim (1/354) graded it sahih, all of them through different routes from Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who related it, and the wording given here is that of Abu Dawud, though some of them abridged it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, whose hadith is hasan. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih."
