I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, while I was a young boy, "The Ajwa dates and the tree are from Paradise."
سمعت النبي ﷺ وأنا وصيف يقول: العجوة والشجرة من الجنة.
Ahmad (15508) narrated it from Yahya bin Saeed, who said, Mushmail narrated to us, he said, Amr bin Sulaym Muzani narrated to me, he said, I heard Rafi bin Amr Muzani, then he mentioned it.Its isnad is sahih, except for his saying "the tree," which is shadh. It has been said that what is meant by "the tree" is the date-palm tree of Madinah.Mushmail is Ibn Iyas, and it is also said he is Ibn Amr bin Iyas, the Madani, the Basri. Ibn Main said he is Ibn Milhan, and said there is no harm in him. Abu Dawud, Ibn Khuzayma, and others deemed him trustworthy.As for his saying, "I am a wasif," al-wasif means a slave or a servant.
