She reported that the Prophet ﷺ came in to her and asked, "Do you have any dharirah powder?"She replied, "Yes."He told her to bring it, and she applied it to a sore on the skin between his toes. Then he said, "O Allah, the One who diminishes the great and magnifies the small, diminish this affliction for me." And it subsided.
Imam Ahmad (23141), Nasai in al-Kubra (10803), and Hakim (4/407) all narrated it through various routes from Ibn Jurayj, who said, Amr bin Yahya bin Umara bin Abu Hasan told me, Maryam bint Iyas bin Bukayr, a companion of the Prophet ﷺ, told me, from one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, and then he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hakim said, "This is a hadith with a sahih chain of transmission, and the two of them (Bukhari and Muslim) did not narrate it." Ibn Hajar also declared its chain of transmission sahih in al-Isabah.Maryam bint Iyas bin Bukayr had the honor of seeing the Prophet. Ibn Abdul-Barr mentioned her among the companions, and Ibn Hajar relied on this, mentioning her in the first section of al-Isabah, and repeating her mention in the second section as well.I say, they are the children of the companions who had the honor of seeing the Prophet, and this is the relied-upon view regarding her status as a companion. It is recorded in Hakim's version, from one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, "I think she was Zaynab."His saying "dhareerah" refers to a type of perfume, made from crushed fragrant reed. His saying "al-bathrah" refers to small boils.
