The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah grant prosperity to a servant who hears these words of mine and conveys them. Many a bearer of knowledge is not himself a person of understanding, and many a bearer of knowledge carries it to one who has deeper understanding than he does.There are three things in which the heart of a Muslim harbors no malice: sincerity of action for the sake of Allah, offering sincere counsel to those in authority, and adhering to the community of the Muslims, for their call encompasses those behind them."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: نصر الله عبدا سمع مقالتي هذه فحملها، فرب حامل الفقه فيه غير فقيه، ورب حامل الفقه إلى من هو أفقه منه. ثلاث لا يغل عليهن صدر مسلم: إخلاص العمل الله، ومناصحة أولي الأمر، ولزوم جماعة المسلمين، فإن دعوتهم تحيط من ورائهم.
Imam Ahmad (13350) narrated it from Abu Mughira, from Maan bin Rifa, who said, Abdul-Wahhab bin Bakht Makki told me, from Anas bin Malik, and he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Maan bin Rifa, for he is hasan al-hadith. Ibn Majah (236) narrated it through another route from Maan bin Rifa with his chain, but he limited it to his saying, "He has more understanding than him." In its chain is the shaykh of Ibn Majah, Muhammad bin Ibrahim Dimashqi, whom Daraqutni called a liar, and Ibn Hibban and Hakim accused him of fabricating hadith.
