The Prophet ﷺ permitted Banu Amr to use an incantation for snakebite.Abu Zubayr said, I heard Jabir bin Abdullah say, "A scorpion stung one of our men while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."A man asked, "Messenger of Allah, shall I recite an incantation?"He replied, "Whoever among you is able to benefit his brother, let him do so."
أرخص النبي ﷺ في رقية الحية لبني عمرو قال أبو الزبير: وسمعت جابر بن عبد الله يقول: لدغت رجلا منا عقرب، ونحن جلوس مع رسول الله ﷺ فقال رجل: يا رسول الله أرقي؟ قال: من استطاع منكم أن ينفع أخاه فليفعل.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Greetings (2199:61), from Muhammad bin Hatim, who said, Rawh bin Ubada told us, who said, Ibn Jurayj told us, who said, Abu Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah, and he related it.
