The wife of the Prophet ﷺ reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a Jariya in the house of Umm Salama and noticed a mark on her face. He said, "She has been struck by the evil eye, so seek a healing incantation for her," meaning that there was a yellow tinge on her face.
زوج النبي ﷺ أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الجارية في بيت أم سلمة رأى بوجهها سفعة فقال: بها نظرة، فاسترقوا لها يعني بوجهها صفرة.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Medicine (5739), and Muslim in the Book of Greetings (2197), both through the route of Muhammad bin Harb, who said, Muhammad bin Walid Zubaydi narrated to us, Zuhri informed us, from Urwa bin Zubayr, from Zaynab bint Abu Salama, from Umm Salama, and he mentioned it.
