I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah has made mercy into one hundred parts. He kept ninety-nine with Him and sent down one part to the earth. From that single part, all creatures show mercy to one another, so much so that a mare lifts her hoof away from her foal out of fear of harming it."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: جعل الله الرحمة مائة جزء. فأمسك عنده تسعة وتسعين، وأنزل في الأرض جزءا واحدا، فمن ذلك الجزء تتراحم الخلائق حتى ترفع الدابة حافرها عن ولدها خشية أن تصيبه.
