Fadala bin Ubayd used to say, "O Allah, I ask You for contentment after Your decree, a cool and pleasant life after death, the delight of gazing upon Your face, and the longing to meet You, free from any harmful affliction or misleading trial."He stated that these were supplications which the Prophet ﷺ used to make.
أن فضالة بن عبيد، كان يقول: اللهم إني أسألك الرضا بعد القضاء، وبرد العيش بعد الموت، ولذة النظر في وجهك، والشوق إلى لقائك من غير ضراء مضرة ولا فتنة مضلة. وزعم أنها دعوات كان يدعو بها النبي ﷺ.
Ibn Abu Asim narrated it in Sunnah (436), and Tabarani in Awsat (Majma Bahrayn 4681) and Kabir (18/319), all of them through the route of Uthman bin Saeed bin Kathir bin Dinar Himsi, who said, Muhammad bin Muhajir (who is the Syrian) narrated to us, from Yunus bin Maysara bin Halabas, from Umm Darda, and he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.
