The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate with these words, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt, from being overpowered by enemies, and from the gloating of foes."
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يدعو بهؤلاء الكلمات: اللهم إني أعوذ بك من غلبة الدين، وغلبة العدو، وشماتة الأعداء.
Nasai narrated it (5475), and Ibn Hibban (1027) and Hakim (1/531) both graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Ibn Wahb, from Huyayy bin Abdullah, who said, Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli told me, from Abdullah bin Amr bin As, and he related it.Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criterion of Muslim." Its chain is hasan because of Huyayy bin Abdullah, who is Maafiri. Muslim did not narrate from him, and there is disagreement about him, but there is no harm in him when his hadith has a basis.
