The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah does not bestow a blessing upon a servant who then says, 'Praise be to Allah,' except that what he has been given is greater than what he received."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما أنعم الله على عبد نعمة فقال: الحمد لله إلا كان الذي أعطى أفضل مما أخذ.
Ibn Majah (3805) and Bazzar (7514) both narrated it through the route of Abu Asim, from Shabib bin Bishr, from Anas, who related it. Bazzar said, "We do not know of this hadith being narrated from Anas except by this route with this chain."I say, this chain is hasan because of Shabib bin Bishr, for there is disagreement about him, though his hadith is hasan. Busiri also graded it hasan in Misbah Zujaja.As for his statement, "What was given was," it means that what I said in praise is better than what I took in blessing. Allah Most High said, "And when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you, but if you are ungrateful, indeed My punishment is severe.'" [Ibrahim 14:7]
