Tabarani related it in al-Kabir (1893) via Muthanna bin Sabbah, from Amr bin Shuayb, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Huzaifa, and he mentioned it. Haythami said in al-Majma (4/297), "It contains Muthanna bin Sabbah, who is considered matruk (abandoned) by the majority, though Ibn Main deemed him reliable, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy."I say, it has a corroborating narration. Firyabi related it in al-Qadr (434) through another route, from Ibn Lahia, from Amr bin Shuayb with his chain, similarly. There is well-known discussion about Ibn Lahia, but with this corroboration the hadith rises to the level of hasan.As for what is reported from Jareer, who said, a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I could not free myself from the polytheists except by means of a slave-girl, and I practice withdrawal (azl) with her, wanting to sell her." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever was decreed will come to her regardless." This is daif.Ibn Abu Asim related it in al-Sunnah (363) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba (it is also found in his Musannaf), who said, Fadl bin Dukayn told us, from Mindal, from Jafar bin Abu Mughira, from Abdullah bin Abu Huzayl, from Jareer, and he mentioned it. Mindal, with the mim vowelled with kasra and the nun with sukun, is Ibn Ali Anazi. It is said his real name was Amr, and Mindal was a nickname. The majority of scholars are agreed on classifying him as daif.
