The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me, "How long have you been here?"I replied, "I have been here for thirty days and nights."He asked, "Who has been feeding you?"I said, "I have had no food except the water of Zamzam. I have grown so plump that the folds of my belly have creased, and I feel no pang of hunger in my liver."He said, "It is blessed. It is a food that nourishes."
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ: متى كنت ههنا؟ قال: قلت: قد كنت ههنا منذ ثلاثين بين ليلة ويوم. قال: فمن كان يطعمك؟ قال: قلت: ماكان لي طعام إلا ماء زمزم فسمنت حتى تكسرت عكن بطني، وما أجد على كبدي سخفة جوع! قال: إنها مباركة، إنها طعام طعم.
Muslim narrated it in the Virtues of the Companions (2473) from Haddab bin Khalid Azdi, who said, Sulayman bin Mughira related to us, Humayd bin Hilal informed us, from Abdullah bin Samit, who said, Abu Dharr said, then he mentioned a lengthy hadith about his departure from his people to Makkah. Abu Dawud Tayalisi also narrated it (459) from Sulayman bin Mughira, and he added in it, "and a cure for sickness." This addition is sahih, and Muslim did not mention it because it did not occur in the version of his teacher Haddab bin Khalid. Likewise, Ibn Hibban narrated it (7133) through the hadith of Haddab bin Khalid without this addition.
