I used to keep the people away from Ibn Abbas, but I was absent for several days.He asked, "What kept you away?"I replied, "Fever."He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it down with water,' or 'with the water of Zamzam.'"
كنت أدفع الناس عن ابن عباس فاحتبست أياما فقال: ما حبسك؟ قلت الحمى قال: إن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن الحمى من فيح جهنم، فأبردوها بالماء، أو بماء زمزم.
Bukhari reported it in the Beginning of Creation (3261), from Abdullah bin Muhammad, he said, Abu Amir narrated to us, he said, Hammam narrated to us, from Abu Jamra Dubai, who said, and then he mentioned it.
