The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Black Stone and the Station of Ibrahim are two rubies from the rubies of Paradise. Allah extinguished their light, for had He not done so, they would have illuminated everything between the East and the West."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: الركن والمقام ياقوتتان من ياقوت الجنة، طمس الله نورهما، ولولا ذلك لأضاءتا ما بين المشرق والمغرب.
Ibn Khuzayma narrated it (2731), as did Hakim (1/456) and Bayhaqi (5/75), all of them through the hadith of Ayub bin Suwayd, from Yunus, from Zuhri, from Musafi bin Shayba Hijbi, from Abdullah bin Amr, and he related it.Hakim said, "This is a hadith that Ayub bin Suwayd narrated alone from Yunus, and Ayub is among those whose narrations neither of the two [Bukhari and Muslim] relied upon as evidence, though he is one of the eminent teachers of Syria."Ibn Khuzayma said, "No one that I know of has given this report a full chain from the hadith of Zuhri except Ayub bin Suwayd, if indeed he preserved it accurately from him."I say, it is not as he said. Rather, Ahmad bin Shabib also gave it a full chain, from his father, from Yunus, from Zuhri, and he added to it, "No one afflicted with a defect or illness touched them but was healed." Bayhaqi narrated it.Ahmad's father is Shabib bin Saeed, and there is no harm in his hadith when narrated by his son Ahmad from him. This is a strong corroboration for Ayub bin Suwayd, whom most scholars agree in declaring daif, except for his statement, "No one afflicted with a defect or illness touched them but was healed," for this is an objectionable addition that has not been corroborated by anyone.
