The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people on the Day of Sacrifice, saying, "People, what day is this?"They replied, "A sacred day."He asked, "What land is this?"They replied, "A sacred land."He asked, "What month is this?"They replied, "A sacred month."He said, "Indeed, your blood, your property, and your honor are sacred to one another, just as this day of yours is sacred, in this land of yours, in this month of yours."He repeated this several times, then raised his head and said, "O Allah, have I conveyed the message? O Allah, have I conveyed the message?"Ibn Abbas said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, this was his final charge to his community. So let those present convey it to those absent. Do not return to disbelief after me, striking one another's necks."
