The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ibrahim made Mecca a sanctuary, and I declare Medina a sanctuary, the area between its two lava fields," meaning Medina.
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن إبراهيم حرم مكة وإني أحرم المدينة ما بين لابتيها- يريد المدينة-.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hajj (1361 - 456) from Qutayba bin Saeed, from Bakr bin Mudar, from Ibn Hadi, from Abu Bakr bin Muhammad, from Abdullah bin Amr bin Uthman, from Rafi bin Khadij, and he mentioned it.
