He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "I have made sacred what lies between the two lava fields of Madinah, just as Ibrahim made Makkah sacred."He said, Abu Saeed would then take, or find, one of us with a bird in his hand, and he would release it from his hand and let it go.
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول: إني حرمت ما بين لابتي المدينة كما حرم إبراهيم مكة. قال: ثم كان أبو سعيد يأخذ-أو يجد-أحدنا في يده الطير، فيكفه من يده، ثم يرسله.
Muslim narrated it in Hajj (1374: 478) through various routes from Abu Usama, from Walid bin Kathir, who said, Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Saeed Khudri told me that Abdul-Rahman told him, from his father, from Abu Saeed, and he mentioned it.
