The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you conquer Egypt, treat the Copts well, for they have a covenant of protection and a tie of kinship."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إذا افتحتم مصر فاستوصوا بالقبط خيرا، فإن لهم ذمة ورحما.
Tahawi narrated it in Sharh Mushkil (2364), and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (19/61), and Hakim graded it sahih (2/553), all of them through routes from Zuhri, from Abdul-Rahman bin Kaab bin Malik, from his father Kaab, who said, and then he related it. Its isnad is sahih.Haythami said in Al-Majma (10/63), "Tabarani narrated it with two isnads, and the men of one of them are the men of the Sahih."
