Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir (23/265–266) from the hadith of Wahb bin Jareer, who said, my father narrated to us, from Yahya bin Ayub, from Yazid bin Abu Habib, from Abu Salama, from Umm Salama, and he related it.Its chain is hasan on account of Yahya bin Ayub, who is Ghafiqi Misri, for he is hasan-al-hadith. Abu Salama is Ibn Abdul-Rahman bin Awf. Haythami said in Al-Majma (10/63), "Tabarani narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih."A similar meaning has been narrated from Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, who is Abdullah bin Yazid, and Amr bin Hurayth, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You will come upon a people whose hair is curly, so treat them well, for they are a source of strength for you and a means of reaching your enemy, by Allah's permission. He meant the Copts of Egypt."Abu Yaala narrated it (1473), and Ibn Abdul-Hakam in Futuh Misr (p. 5), both by way of Abu Hani Humayd bin Hani Khawlani, that he heard Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, who is Abdullah bin Yazid, and Amr bin Hurayth, and others, saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, the hadith.There is disagreement over whether Amr bin Hurayth was a companion, and most scholars hold that he was a successor. Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli was also a successor, so the hadith is mursal.
