When the verse "When the help of Allah comes and the victory" [Nasr 110:1] was revealed until the end of the surah, he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed of his own approaching death when this surah was revealed."He said, "From that moment on, he devoted himself more intensely than ever to the affairs of the Hereafter."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ later said, "Victory has come, the help of Allah has come, and the people of Yemen have come."A man asked, "Messenger of Allah, who are the people of Yemen?"He replied, "A people whose hearts are tender and gentle. Faith is Yemeni, and understanding is Yemeni."
Nasai in al-Kubra (11648), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (11/328–329), both narrated it through Abu Awana, from Hilal bin Khabab, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who said, and then mentioned it. He also narrated it through another route (11904) from Hilal bin Khabab with this same chain, adding in it, "And wisdom is Yemeni." Its chain is hasan because of Hilal bin Khabab, for his hadith is hasan.Haythami said in al-Majmu (9/22–23), "Tabarani narrated it in al-Kabir and al-Awsat through several chains, adding 'and wisdom is Yemeni,' and one of its chains has narrators who are the narrators of the sahih."
