A man said, "Messenger of Allah, curse the people of Yemen, for their might is fierce, their numbers are great, and their fortresses are well-protected."He replied, "No."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the foreigners, Persia and Rome, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the people of Yemen pass by you, driving their women along and carrying their sons upon their shoulders, they are from me and I am from them."
أن رجلا قال: يا رسول الله العن أهل اليمن، فإنهم شديد بأسهم، كثير عددهم، حصينة حصونهم، فقال: لا ثم لعن رسول الله ﷺ الأعجمين فارس والروم، وقال رسول الله ﷺ: إذا مر بكم أهل اليمن يسوقون نساءهم ويحملون أبناءهم على عواتقهم فإنهم مني وأنا منهم.
Ahmad (17647) and Tabarani in al-Kabir (17/123) both narrated it through Baqiya bin Walid, who said, Buhayr bin Saad narrated to me, from Khalid bin Madan, from Uqbah bin Abd, who said, and he mentioned it.Tabarani also narrated it in Musnad Shamiyin (1139) from Ahmad bin Abdul-Wahhab bin Najda, from his father, who said, Ismail bin Ayyash narrated to us, from Buhayr bin Saad, with the same wording.Its chain is hasan because of Baqiya bin Walid, for his hadith is hasan when he explicitly states that he heard it directly. Haythami said in al-Majma (10/56), "Ahmad and Tabarani narrated it, and their chain is hasan, for Baqiya explicitly stated that he heard it directly."
