The Prophet ﷺ said, "The people of Yemen have come to you. They are the most tender-hearted and gentle in spirit. Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: أتاكم أهل اليمن هم أرق أفئدة، وألين قلوبا، الإيمان يمان، والحكمة يمانية.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4388), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (52), both through different lines of transmission from Abu Hurairah, and he related the hadith, and their wording is identical.Similar in meaning is what Imam Ahmad related (17406) from Abu Abdul-Rahman Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, who said, Haywa narrated to us, Bakr bin Amr informed us, that Musharrah bin Han informed him, that he heard Uqba bin Amir say, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The people of Yemen have the most tender hearts and the softest dispositions, and are the most compliant in obedience.'"Musharrah bin Han is Muafiri, Abu Musab Misri. Ibn Hibban said of him, "He relates from Uqba bin Amir hadiths that are objectionable, not corroborated by others. The correct approach regarding him is to set aside the narrations he transmits alone, and to give weight only to what agrees with the trustworthy narrators."I say, he alone transmitted his phrase in the hadith, "the most compliant in obedience," and he was not corroborated in it.
