A delegation from Bajilah came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Clothe the Bajilah delegation, and begin with the Ahmas clan."A man from Qays held back, saying, "Let me wait and see what the Messenger ﷺ will say to them."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then supplicated for them five times, saying, "O Allah, send blessings upon them," or, "O Allah, bless them."
Ahmad narrated it (18833) from Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shubah narrated to us, from Mukhariq, from Tariq bin Shihab, who said, and then he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Mukhariq is Ibn Khalifa Ahmasi. Tariq bin Shihab is Ibn Abd Shams Bajali Ahmasi, one of the younger companions who saw the Prophet ﷺ but did not hear anything directly from him. A mursal narration from a companion is accepted, as is well known among scholars.Ibn Hajar said in Isabah (4238), "If it is established that he met the Prophet ﷺ, then he is a companion according to the preferred view. And if it is established that he did not hear from him, then his narration from him is mursal, and it is accepted according to the preferred view."
