Jabir reported, my father ordered that some khazirah be prepared, so it was made, and I carried it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I came to him while he was at his home, and he asked, "What is this, Jabir? Is it meat?"I replied, "No, it is khazirah."He directed that it be taken, so it was received. When I returned to my father, he asked, "Did you see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"I said, "Yes."He asked, "Did he say anything?"I said, "Yes, he said, 'What is this, Jabir? Is it meat?'"My father said, "Perhaps the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has a craving for meat." He then went to a domesticated sheep he had and slaughtered it, ordered it to be roasted, then instructed me to carry it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I came to him while he was still in that same gathering, and he asked, "What is this, Jabir?"I said, "Messenger of Allah, I returned to my father, and he asked, 'Did you see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' I said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Did he say anything?' I said, 'Yes, he said, What is this? Is it meat?' My father said, 'Perhaps the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has a craving for meat.' He then went to a domesticated sheep he had and slaughtered it, ordered it to be roasted, then instructed me to carry it to you."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah reward the Ansar with goodness on our behalf, especially Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram and Saad bin Ubada."

Nasai narrated it in Kubra (8223) in abridged form, and Bazzar in Kashf Astar (2707), and Abu Yaala (2079, 2080), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (7020) and the wording here is his, and Hakim (4/111), all of them by way of Ibrahim bin Habib bin Shaheed, who said, "Our father narrated to us, from Amr bin Dinar, from Jabir bin Abdullah," and he mentioned it. Its chain is sahih. Hakim said, "Sahih in its chain." Haythami mentioned it in Majma (9/317) and said, "Bazzar narrated it and its narrators are reliable."Note, first, the hadith appears in Nasai and Bazzar with the wording "especially the family of Amr bin Haram" instead of "Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram." Second, the mention of "Habib bin Shaheed" was dropped from Hakim's chain of transmission.
