The Prophet ﷺ proposed marriage to Umm Hani bint Abu Talib. She said, "Messenger of Allah, I have grown old and I have children to care for."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best women to ever ride camels are the women of Quraysh. They are the most affectionate toward a child in his early years."
أن النبي ﷺ خطب أم هانئ بنت أبي طالب فقالت: يا رسول الله إني قد كبرت ولي عيال، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: خير نساء ركبن الإبل، نساء قريش، أحناه على ولد في صغره.
Muslim narrated it in the Merits of the Companions (201:2527) via Abdul-Razzaq, who reported to us, Maamar told us, from Zuhri, from Ibn Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.Bukhari narrated it in the Prophets (3434) as a suspended narration, through a different route, from Ibn Shihab with his chain, in similar wording, but it does not meet Bukhari's conditions. For this reason I did not say of it "sahih."His statement, "the most tender toward a child in his youth," means the most compassionate toward him. The tender one toward her children is the one who takes charge of them after they are orphaned and does not remarry. If she remarries, she is no longer considered tender. Nawawi said this in his commentary on Sahih Muslim.
