The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called Fatimah and spoke to her privately, and she wept. Then he spoke to her again, and she laughed.Umm Salama said, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, I asked her about her weeping and her laughter."Fatimah replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me that he was going to die, so I wept. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me that I would be the mistress of the women of Paradise, after Maryam bint Imran, so I laughed."
Tirmidhi (3873, 3893), Nasai in al-Kubra (8460), Ibn Abu Asim in al-Ahad wal-Mathani (2964), Ajurri in al-Sharia (1608), and Ibn Shahin in his Juz Fadail Fatimah (8) all narrated it through routes from Muhammad bin Khalid Ibn Uthma, who said, Musa bin Yaqub narrated to us, Hashim bin Hashim narrated to me, from Abdullah bin Wahb, that Umm Salama mentioned it. This is the wording of Nasai, and the others reported it similarly, except Tirmidhi, who said, "Then he informed me that I am the mistress of the women of the people of Paradise except Maryam bint Imran, so I laughed," in place of his saying "after Maryam," though the meaning is the same, and Allah knows best.Tirmidhi said, "Hasan gharib from this route." Its chain is hasan because of Musa bin Yaqub, who is al-Zamii, concerning whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is hasan. The one narrating from him, Muhammad bin Khalid bin Uthma, has been criticized, but he has been corroborated in Tabarani's al-Kabir (22/421).On this subject there is also a narration from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "An angel from heaven who had not visited me before sought Allah's permission to visit me, and gave me the glad tidings, or informed me, that Fatimah is the mistress of the women of my nation." Tabarani narrated it in al-Kabir (22/403) from Ali bin Abdul-Aziz, who said, Abu Naeem narrated to us, Muhammad bin Marwan al-Dhuhali narrated to us, Abu Hazim narrated to me, Abu Hurairah narrated to me, and he mentioned it.Muhammad bin Marwan al-Dhuhali is Abu Jafar al-Kufi. I did not find anyone declaring him trustworthy except Ibn Hibban, who mentioned him among his trustworthy narrators, and he is known for declaring trustworthy those in whom no criticism has been found. Dhahabi said of him, "He is scarcely known," and Hafiz said, "Acceptable," meaning where he is corroborated, otherwise his hadith is weak, and I did not find any corroboration for him.
