Abu Darda reported,
I said, "Messenger of Allah, I have heard that you said, 'A people will disbelieve after their faith.'"He replied, "Yes, but you will not be among them."Abu Darda died before the killing of Uthman

قلت: يا رسول الله بلغني أنك قلت: سيكفر قوم بعد إيمانهم، قال: أجل، ولست منهم. فمات أبو الدرداء قبل قتل عثمان رضي الله عنهما.

Ibn Abu Asim reported it in Diyat (81), and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (45/1-46), both through the route of Yaqub bin Kaab Halabi, who said, Walid bin Muslim narrated to us, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir and Abdul-Ghaffar bin Ismail bin Ubaydullah narrated to us, from Ismail bin Ubaydullah, from Abu Abdullah Ashari, from Abu Darda, and he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Haythami said in Al-Majmu (9/367), "Tabarani reported it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih except for Abu Abdullah Ashari, who is trustworthy."
