Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (2750), and Hakim (2/609), both by way of Abu Saeed Abdullah bin Saeed Ashaj, who said, Abu Muawiya narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Ayesha, and he related it. Its chain is sahih, and Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of the two Shaykhs, though they did not include it." Haythami said in Majma (9/416), "Bazzar narrated it both as a connected chain and as a mursal one, and the men of the connected and mursal narrations are the men of the Sahih."It has also been narrated as mursal. Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (2751) by way of Abu Usama, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, who said, There was some exchange of words between my brother Waraqa and a man, and the man attacked Waraqa in order to anger him, and he then related the hadith in similar fashion.Daraqutni held the view that the mursal version should be given preference over the connected one.
