I gained nothing from the office that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed me to except two striped cloaks, which I gave as clothing to my freed slave Kaysan.

Abu Dawud Tayalisi (1453) and Tabarani in al-Kabir (7/161) both narrated it through the route of Khalid bin Abu Uthman, from Ayub bin Abdullah bin Yasar, from Amr bin Abu Aqrab, from Itaab bin Usayd, who mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan due to Ayub bin Abdullah bin Yasar and Amr bin Abu Aqrab. Ibn Hajar also graded it hasan in al-Isabah (7/63).
