Hakim narrated it (3/2), and Bayhaqi transmitted it from him (5/264), from the hadith of Abdullah bin Wahb, who said, Sulayman bin Bilal informed us, who said, Rabia bin Abu Abdul-Rahman narrated to me, from Abdul-Malik bin Saeed bin Suwayd, from Abu Humayd Saadi, and he related it.Bayhaqi also transmitted it from this same route in his book al-Qadaa wal-Qadar (2/460–461). Its isnad is sahih. Hakim graded it sahih and said, "It meets the standard of the two Shaykhs [Bukhari and Muslim]." However, Bukhari did not transmit from Abdul-Malik bin Saeed, only Muslim did, so it meets the standard of Muslim alone.Ibn Majah (2142) and Ibn Abu Asim in al-Sunnah (418) both narrated it, both of them from Hisham bin Ammar, who said, Ismail bin Ayyash narrated to us, from Umara bin Ghaziya, from Rabia bin Abu Abdul-Rahman, with his isnad, similarly.Ismail bin Ayyash is considered weak in his narrations from those who are not from Sham, and this is one of them, since Umara bin Ghaziya was from Madinah. It appears, however, that he did not err in this narration, since he is corroborated by the first isnad.
