The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bought a camel from me for two ounces and a dirham or two. When he arrived at Sirar, he ordered a cow to be slaughtered, and they ate from it. When he reached Madinah, he instructed me to come to the mosque and pray two rakahs. He weighed out the price of the camel for me and gave me extra in the measure.
اشترى مني رسول الله ﷺ بعيرا بوقيتين ودرهم أو درهمين قال: فلما قدم صرارا أمر ببقرة فذبحت فأكلوا منها، فلما قدم المدينة، أمرني أن آتي المسجد، فأصلي ركعتين ووزن لي ثمن البعير، فأرجح لي.
Bukhari reported it in jihad and expeditions (3089), and Muslim reported it in sharecropping (715:115), both through the route of Shubah, from Muharib bin Dithar, from Jabir bin Abdullah who said, and then he mentioned it.His saying, "Sirar," refers to an old well three miles from Madinah on the road to Iraq. Bukhari said it is a location in the outskirts of Madinah.
