The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man will take hold of his father's hand on the Day of Resurrection, intending to bring him into Paradise. But a voice will call out, 'No idolater enters Paradise. Allah has forbidden Paradise to every idolater.'The man will plead, 'My Lord, my Lord, this is my father!'Then his father will be transformed into an ugly form with a foul stench, and the man will let him go."Abu Saeed said, "The companions of Muhammad ﷺ understood that this referred to Ibrahim, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not say anything more to them about it."
Ibn Hibban narrated it in his Sahih (252), and this is his wording, and Bazzar in Kashf Astar (94), and Hakim (4/587–588), all of them from the hadith of Mutamir bin Sulayman, who said, I heard my father narrating from Qatada, from Uqbah bin Abdul-Ghafir, from Abu Saeed, and he mentioned the hadith.Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criteria of the two sheikhs, but they did not report it."
