I was with Ali when a chair and a small vessel of water were brought to him. He washed his hands three times, his face three times, and his forearms three times. Then he wiped his head, and Yahya demonstrated, beginning from the front of his head and moving to the back. He said, "I do not know whether he brought his hands back or not." Then he washed his feet and said, "Whoever wishes to see the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, this is the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."Abu Bakr al-Qatii said, Abu Abdul-Rahman told us, "Shuba made an error in this. It is in fact narrated from Khalid bin Alqama, from Abd Khayr."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن شعبة حدثني مالك بن عرفطة سمعت
كنت عند علي فأتي بكرسي وتور قال فغسل كفيه ثلاثا ووجهه ثلاثا وذراعيه ثلاثا ومسح برأسه وصف يحيى فبدأ بمقدم رأسه إلى مؤخره وقال ولا أدري أرد يده أم لا وغسل رجليه ثم قال من أحب أن ينظر إلى وضوء رسول الله ﷺ فهذا وضوء رسول الله ﷺ قال أبو بكر القطيعي قال لنا أبو عبد الرحمن هذا أخطأ فيه شعبة إنما هو عن خالد بن علقمة عن عبد خير
