Malik bin Umayr reported,

I was sitting with Ali when Sasaah bin Sawhan came in, greeted him, then stood and said, "Commander of the Believers, forbid us from what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade you."Ali replied, "He forbade us from the gourd, the green jar, the pitch-coated vessel, and the hollowed stump. He forbade us from garments dyed with qass, from red saddle-cloths, from silk, and from gold rings."Then he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ clothed me in a silk robe, and I went out wearing it so that people might see me dressed in the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ gift. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me, he ordered me to take it off. He sent one piece of it to Fatimah and divided the other among his wives."

عن مالك بن عمير قال

كنت قاعدا عند علي رضي الله عنه قال فجاء صعصعة بن صوحان فسلم ثم قام فقال يا أمير المؤمنين انهنا عما نهاك عنه رسول الله ﷺ فقال نهانا عن الدباء والحنتم والمزفت والنقير ونهانا عن القسي والميثرة الحمراء وعن الحرير والحلق الذهب ثم قال كساني رسول الله ﷺ حلة من حرير فخرجت فيها لير الناس علي كسوة رسول الله ﷺ قال فرآني رسول الله ﷺ فأمرني بنزعهما فأرسل بإحداهما إلى فاطمة وشق الأخرى بين نسائه
