The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has one hundred mercies. He sent down one of them among mankind, jinn, and creatures, and through it they show affection to one another, through it they show mercy to one another, and through it wild animals show tenderness toward their young. He has held back ninety-nine until the Day of Resurrection, with which He will show mercy to His servants."
حدثنا يحيى عن عبد الملك عن عطاء
عن النبي ﷺ لله مائة رحمة أنزل منها رحمة واحدة بين الإنس والجن والهوام فبها يتعاطفون وبها يتراحمون وبها تعطف الوحش على أولادها وأخر تسعة وتسعين إلى يوم القيامة يرحم بها عباده
Its isnad is sahih, Bukhari related it, 10/431, no. 6000, in the Book of Manners, "Allah made mercy a hundred parts," and Muslim related it in the Book of Repentance, 4/2108, no. 2752, in the chapter on the vastness of Allah's mercy, and Tirmidhi related it, 5/549, no. 3541, in the Book of Supplications, "Allah created a hundred mercies," and Ibn Majah related it, 2/1435, no. 4293, in the Book of Asceticism, "what may be hoped for from Allah's mercy."
