Abu Hurairah came to us at the mosque of Banu Zurayq and said, "There are three things the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to practice that people have now abandoned. He would raise his hands fully extended when he began the prayer, he would say the takbir every time he bowed and rose, and he would observe a moment of silence before the recitation, asking Allah for some of His bounty."Yazid said, "He would supplicate and ask Allah for some of His bounty."
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim related it, 1/294, in the book of prayer, chapter on affirming the takbir at every lowering and rising. Tirmidhi related it, 2/33, number 253, and said, hasan sahih. Nasai related it, 2/124, number 883, in the chapter on the opening, raising the hands and the like. And Bayhaqi, 2/67. It has already been mentioned at 2/417.
