The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade continuous fasting without breaking it.Someone said, "Messenger of Allah, but you yourself fast continuously."He replied, "I am not like you. I spend the night with my Lord, who feeds me and gives me drink."
حدثنا أسود بن عامر قال أنبأنا أبو بكر عن عاصم عن أبي صالح
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الوصال قال قيل يا رسول الله إنك تواصل قال إني لست مثلكم إني أظل عند ربي يطعمني ويسقيني
Its chain is sahih. It is also found in Muslim, 2/774, no. 1102, in the Book of Fasting, on the prohibition of consecutive fasting (wisal), and in Abu Dawud, 2360, in the Book of Fasting, on wisal, both with this wording, while the rest have it with similar wording. It has already passed at 2/281 of the printed edition.
