Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to the mosque and saw the people sitting in scattered groups. He became extremely angry, more angry than we had ever seen him before. He said, "By Allah, I have a mind to order a man to lead the people in prayer, then go after those who stay behind from the prayer in their homes and burn their houses down upon them."Sometimes the narrator said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque for the evening prayer."

حدثنا أسود بن عامر قال أنبأنا أبو بكر عن عاصم عن أبي صالح

عن أبي هريرة قال

جاء رسول الله ﷺ إلى المسجد فرآهم عزين متفرقين قال فغضب غضبا شديدا ما رأيناه غضب غضبا أشد منه قال والله لقد هممت أن آمر رجلا يؤم الناس ثم أتتبع هؤلاء الذين يتخلفون عن الصلاة في دورهم فأحرقها عليهم وربما قال دخل رسول الله ﷺ المسجد صلاة العشاء
