The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah called upon Jibreel and sent him to Paradise, saying, 'Look at it and at what I have prepared for its inhabitants.' He returned and said, 'By Your might, no one will hear of it without entering it.' Then it was screened with hardships, and Allah said, 'Return to it and look at it again.' He returned and said, 'By Your might, I fear that no one will enter it.'Then Allah sent him to the Fire and said, 'Go and look at it and at what I have prepared for its inhabitants within it.' He returned and said, 'By Your might, no one who hears of it will enter it.' Then it was screened with desires, and Allah said, 'Go back to it and look at it again.' He returned and said, 'By Your might, I fear that no one will be left who does not enter it.'"
Its isnad is hasan. Abu Dawud narrated it in 4/236 no. 4744, in the Book of the Sunnah, in the chapter on the creation of Paradise and Hellfire, and Tirmidhi in 4/193 no. 2560, in the chapter on the description of Paradise, on what has been said, "Paradise is surrounded by hardships," and he said, hasan sahih, both of them from Abu Hurairah. The hadith was already mentioned at 8633 with the wording, "When Allah created Paradise, He sent Jibreel."
