The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Nothing infects anything else. Nothing infects anything else. Nothing infects anything else," repeating it three times.An Arabi stood up and said, "Messenger of Allah, mange may appear on the lip or the rump of a camel, and then it spreads through the entire herd."He fell silent for a moment, then said, "What infected the first one? There is no contagion, no Safar, and no owl-omen. Allah created every soul and decreed its life, its death, its afflictions, and its sustenance."

قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يعدي شيء شيئا لا يعدي شيء شيئا ثلاثا قال فقام أعرابي فقال يا رسول الله إن النقبة تكون بمشفر البعير أو بعجبه فتشمل الإبل جربا قال فسكت ساعة فقال ما أعدى الأول لا عدوى ولا صفر ولا هامة خلق الله كل نفس فكتب حياتها وموتها ومصيباتها ورزقها
Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad is Ibn Talha bin Musarrif Yamani Kufi. Its ending has also been narrated as, "There is no contagion, no safar, and no hamah," by Bukhari and Muslim, and by Abu Dawud from Abu Hurairah, and Muslim narrated it from Saaib bin Yazid. Suyuti indicated its soundness. It has also been narrated as, "No hamah, no contagion, no tiyarah, no naw, no safar, and no ghoul," and it also contains, "The sick should not be brought to mingle with the healthy," and it also contains, "He liked a good omen."Bukhari narrated it in the book of medicine from Muhammad bin Hakam, and from Abu Yaman, and again from him, and Uthman said, and from Zuhri, Abu Salama said, and from Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah, and from Abdullah bin Muhammad, and again from him. Muslim narrated it from Yahya bin Ayub, Qutayba, Ali bin Hajar, and from Zuhayr bin Harb. Abu Dawud narrated it in the book of medicine from Muhammad bin Mutawakkil and Hasan bin Ali. Ibn Majah narrated it in the book of medicine from Muhammad bin Abdullah and from Abu Bakr.
