The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection, at the man who lets his garment trail along the ground."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ إن الله لا ينظر إلى المسبل يوم القيامة
A sahih hadith, recorded by Abu Dawud on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him. Nawawi said, "Its chain is sahih according to the standard of Muslim," while Munziri criticized it, saying, "It contains Abu Jafar, a man from Madinah who is unknown."The meaning of "the one who trails his garment" is the one who lets his garment hang down out of pride and arrogance, since prayer is a place of humility and a setting of dignity and tranquility.
