The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The imam is appointed only to be followed, so do not differ with him. When he says the opening takbir, say it too. When he bows, bow with him. When he says, 'Allah hears the one who praises Him,' say, 'Our Lord, to You belongs all praise.' When he prostrates, prostrate with him. And when he prays sitting, then all of you pray sitting."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ رأى عيسى ابن مريم عليه السلام رجلا يسرق فقال له عيسى سرقت قال كلا والذي لا إله إلا هو قال عيسى آمنت بالله وكذبت عيني
This is sahih like the one before it. It is in the individual Sahifah, number 40, and Bukhari related it [4:167, printed / 6:354, Fath] through the route of the Sahifah, and likewise Muslim related it [7:97, printed / 2:224, Bulaq] through its route. But it contains, "and my soul has lied." What the copies of the Musnad, Jami al-Masanid wal-Sunan, and the individual Sahifah all agree upon is more fitting and more correct. See what has already passed in the Musnad of Abdullah bin Umar, 6102.
