The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that Isa the son of Maryam once saw a man stealing.Isa asked him, "Did you steal?"The man replied, "No, by Him besides whom there is no god."Isa said, "I believe Allah, and I call my own eyes liars."
This is sahih by the soundness of the manuscript. It appears in the individual manuscript under number 39. It is a hadith qudsi, as is self-evident from its context. However, it appears in K, M, and Jami al-Masanid in this form, and likewise it appears in the individual manuscript, and it appears at its beginning in H, "Allah said," explicitly stating that it is a hadith qudsi. This is an alteration by a copyist or printer, given the agreement of the other source manuscripts on what we have established. The two sheikhs did not narrate it through the route of the manuscript with this chain. But Bukhari narrated something similar to it, 115:437 Fath, through the narration of Abdullah bin Mubarak, from Maamar, not from Hammam bin Munabbih, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet , who said, "The vow does not bring Ibn Adam..." and so on, without mentioning the phrase "Allah said." Likewise it was narrated in this manner from the copy of Aaraj, 502:11–503 Fath, and its meaning has already passed through other routes, 7207, 7295, 7985, and likewise Muslim narrated its meaning through a route other than the manuscript, 2:12 Bulaq. As for his saying, "But the vow casts upon him what I have decreed for him," this is from ilqa (casting). This is the established and documented text in K. It appears distorted, with unclear dotting, in M. It appears in Jami al-Masanid as "yalabuhu" without dotting. In H it is "yalfituhu," which is a distortion. What we have established is what agrees with the wording of Bukhari in the two locations indicated. He mentioned it in the first location under the heading, "Chapter on the vow casting the servant toward the decree," as in the narration of Kashmihani. In the narration of the individual manuscript, "But the vow wraps him, and I have already decreed it for him," and I fear this may be a distortion resulting from an error in reading its manuscript. As for his saying, "by which I bring out," in the individual manuscript it is, "I bring out by it."
