The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the thong or strap of one of your sandals breaks, do not walk with one foot in a sandal and the other bare. Either go barefoot on both or put sandals on both."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ والذي نفس محمد بيده لقد هممت أن آمر فتياني أن يستعدوا لي بحزم من حطب ثم آمر رجلا يصلي للناس ثم نحرق بيوتا على من فيها
This is also sahih, and it is in the individual pamphlet, number 36. Muslim narrated it [2:123 S / 181 Bulaq] through the route of the pamphlet, but his version does not have at the beginning, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad," and his wording "then we would move away houses" is what is established in the three original sources here, and in the Bulaq printing of Sahih Muslim, and in the sound manuscript of it that I have. In the Astana printing it reads "then burn down houses," and in the individual pamphlet it reads "then I would burn down houses." The meaning of this hadith has already appeared at length under 7324 in the version of Araj, and Malik likewise narrated it in Muwatta, pages 129–130, in the version of Araj. Bukhari narrated it [104:2–108] through the route of Malik, and see 7903.
