The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has chosen four phrases from speech: Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illa Allah, and Allahu Akbar. Whoever says Subhan Allah, Allah records for him twenty good deeds or removes from him twenty sins. Whoever says Allahu Akbar receives the same. Whoever says La ilaha illa Allah receives the same. And whoever says Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen from his own heart has thirty good deeds recorded for him and thirty sins removed from him."
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Sinan is Shaybani the Elder, Darrar bin Mura. Abu Salih Hanafi is Abdul-Rahman bin Qays, whose reliability was established earlier at 107, and we add here that Ibn Saad recorded his biography at 6:158, as did Ibn Abu Hatim at 276/2/2-277.The hadith will come again at 8079 from Abdul-Razzaq, from Israil, with this same isnad, and it will also come again in the Musnad of Abu Saeed Khudri, with these two isnads, at 11324 and 11347. It appears in Jami al-Masanid with both isnads at 7:503. Haythami mentioned it in Majma al-Zawaid 10:87-88, attributing it to Ahmad and Bazzar, and said, "Their narrators are the narrators of the sahih."Munziri mentioned it in Targhib wa Tarhib 2:246, attributing it to Ahmad, Ibn Abu Dunya, Nasai, and Hakim with similar wording, and said, "Sahih according to the standard of Muslim," and also to Bayhaqi, and it appears likely that this is in Sunan al-Kubra of Nasai. Suyuti mentioned it in Jami Saghir, attributing it to Ahmad, Hakim, and Diya. See Fath Kabir 1:323.
