The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a servant gives in charity from what is lawfully earned, Allah accepts it from him, takes it in His right hand, and nurtures it just as one of you nurtures his colt or young camel. A man may give a single morsel in charity, and it grows in the hand of Allah," or he said, "in the palm of Allah, until it becomes like a mountain. So give in charity."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن أيوب عن القاسم بن محمد
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن العبد إذا تصدق من طيب تقبلها الله منه وأخذها بيمينه ورباها كما يربي أحدكم مهره أو فصيله وإن الرجل ليتصدق باللقمة فتربو في يد الله أو قال في كف الله حتى تكون مثل الجبل فتصدقوا

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Qasim is Ibn Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Siddiq, whose biography was given previously at 5883. The hadith was narrated by the leading imam Ibn Khuzayma in Kitab al-Tawhid p. 44, from Muhammad bin Rafi and from Abdul-Rahman bin Bishr bin Hakam, both of them from Abdul-Razzaq, with this chain. Munziri mentioned it in Targhib wal-Tarhib 2:19, with this wording, and also attributed it to Ibn Khuzayma in his Sahih.Something of similar meaning will come at 10090, through the narration of Abbad bin Mansur from Qasim bin Muhammad, from Abu Hurairah, with the wording, "Allah accepts charitable gifts and takes them with His right hand, then nurtures them for one of you just as one of you nurtures his young horse, or his young foal, or his young camel, until a single morsel grows to be like Mount Uhud."The underlying meaning is established in the Sahihayn and elsewhere, through various routes from Abu Hurairah. It will come at 8363, 9413, 9561, and 10958 through the narration of Saeed bin Yasar from Abu Hurairah, and at 8948, 8949, and 9423 through the narration of Suhayl bin Abu Salih from his father from Abu Hurairah, and at 10992 through the narration of Abu Salama from Abu Hurairah.Bukhari narrated it at 3:220–233 and 13:352, Muslim at 1:277–278, Tirmidhi at 2:22–23, Nasai at 1:349, Ibn Majah at 1842, and Ibn Hibban in his Sahih at 5:234–237 of the manuscript of al-Ihsan, through various routes from Abu Hurairah.
