The worst of food is the food of a wedding banquet to which the wealthy are invited and the poor are excluded. It is an obligation, and whoever refuses such an invitation has disobeyed.Muamar would sometimes say, "And whoever does not respond to the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger."
Its isnad is sahih. It is a longer version of 7277, and we explained there that its beginning is stopped (mawquf) while its ending indicates that it should be treated as connected to the Prophet (marfu), as the Hafiz mentioned. He explained it thoroughly in Fath al-Bari 9:211-212.As for this isnad, Muslim narrated it in 1:407, from Muhammad bin Rafi and Abd bin Humayd, both of them from Abdul-Razzaq, with this chain. He did not cite its wording, referring instead to the narration of Malik that preceded it.
