Hammam bin Munabbih reported from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred less one. Whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise."Hammam added in his narration from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet ﷺ, "He is One, and He loves what is odd."
Both chains of transmission are sahih. Mamar reported it with two chains, one from Ayub, from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurairah, and the other from Hammam bin Munabbih, from Abu Hurairah. Hammam's version contains an addition that is not found in Ayub's version from Ibn Sirin.Muslim reported it, 1:307, from Muhammad bin Rafi, from Abdul-Razzaq, with these same two chains, including the addition at the end in the second chain. This has already been given at length, with the addition at the end, at 7493, through the narration of Abu Zinad from Araj from Abu Hurairah, and we noted this point there. It will also come again in the Sahifa of Hammam bin Munabbih at 8131.
