Its isnad is sahih. Malik also related it in Muwatta (p. 953) with a similar wording, from Suhayl bin Abu Salih, with this same isnad. Muslim (2:295) likewise related it through Malik's route, without citing its wording, referring instead to the narrations before it. Muslim (2:295) also related it through the route of Jareer, through the route of Abdul-Aziz Darawardi, and through the route of Abdul-Aziz Majishun. And Tirmidhi (4:146) related it through the route of Darawardi, from Suhayl, all of them transmitting it, some at length and some in brief. Tirmidhi said, "This hadith is hasan sahih."Bukhari related it (13:387), limiting it to the mention of love, through the route of Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Dinar, from his father, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah. Tirmidhi pointed to this narration of Abdul-Rahman right after his own narration. Bukhari also related it (6:220, and 10:385–386) in brief, through the route of Musa bin Uqba, from Nafi, from Abu Hurairah.
